Although, I'll say that we tend to give squid a pass. It's a bit too chewy for us. Others, though, are great. I don't turn down anything (except for liver) on a first try or offer. Some things, like natto, I've even grown to like. And others, like engawa, I've loved from the first bit. Amazing look at Japan, a place I've never been but would now love to go some day. Some of the foods, though, sound so exotic. I'm not sure I'd be able to try everything. Squid, for one. I'm just not sure I'd be able to give that a try, especially since I"m not big on eating sashimi.
