I'm going to mention this over at your blog, too, but you might be interested in (and already know about) an organization called PROINPA (http://www.proinpa.org/)that offers an amazing selection of sweet potatoes. It is all in Spanish, but it might still prove quite useful to you.Joan Lambert Baileyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03115423496781398997[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6670240581789114113.post-43254173716204996972010-06-08T17:17:07.430-04:002010-06-08T17:17:07.430-04:00If only sweetpotatoes grew as easily here - they f...If only sweetpotatoes grew as easily here - they fix their own nitrogen too. I bet it would be perfect for a hot summer day!

Sue, I think you can do it. I did an interview series at Project Grow (see blog sidebar) and this particular grower makes them appear in Michigan. I bet it's possible. And this would be a pretty easy root crop - plant and water - then dig in the fall. They might require some mulching, but that might be it. Oh, I'm excited for you!Joan Lambert Baileyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03115423496781398997[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6670240581789114113.post-83511467564492951232010-05-31T09:31:49.097-04:002010-05-31T09:31:49.097-04:00Very cool! Part of me wonders if I should try, as I'm very fond of sweet potatoes, and part thinks that I'm probably overextended enough in the garden as it is. But I do wonder how they'd do in New England.Sue Dickmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06964270562532579030[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6670240581789114113.post-36608571521133974912010-05-31T05:37:24.092-04:002010-05-31T05:37:24.092-04:00Yum. Thanks for the recipe, but I'll try not to think about "chilly days" until they come again. I'm enjoying a little warmth right now. ;^)Pandaboniumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08352197350806179930[email protected]
