For example, Nippori is just 15 minutes from Shinjuku, so do visit the market and buy lots of fresh vegetables. Shibuya market is also so close. You will find many friends and don't worry!Anonymous[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6670240581789114113.post-79850023745009055472014-05-20T23:51:05.084-04:002014-05-20T23:51:05.084-04:00Hi Alex,

Have you tried Hyperida.com? The English side is very useful in mapping out the trains as is Google maps.

That said, markets can be far away. I might suggest trying a couple different ones, but also when you arrive explore your neighborhood. Often you'll find a green grocer that will have many of the things you'll want to find for cooking. I would really like to find a farmers market close to my place, as I'm a vegetarian (which I have heared is not that easily to manage in Tokyo, esp. without language) and I think going to farmers market would be a nice exeprience. The problem is that I don't really know the language good enough to look for farmers marekt close to me. Could you maybe advise? Do you know of any farmers market close to Shinogawamachi, Shinjuku-ku. I did my research but didn't come up with anything closer than 1.5 hour from my place. I don't know - perhaps it is considered close in Tokyo. :)
Take care! Alex[email protected]
