It's a real benefit of living closer to the edge of the city.

Landguppy: Flowers? How lucky! One nearby stand sells those sometimes, and they're just the best summer bouquets ever.

Anjuli: It is amazing what you can find in a vending machine here. Vegetables, though, are so far my favorite. :)Joan Lambert Baileyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03115423496781398997[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6670240581789114113.post-74649547493338849682010-05-02T02:36:49.301-04:002010-05-02T02:36:49.301-04:00Oh my- what memories your post brought to my mind-...Oh my- what memories your post brought to my mind- the vending machines for everything I could ever think of. I used to live in Urayasu-shi (for seven years). It's a little trickier if I'm stopping somewhere for the first time. I still go ahead and buy, though, as I'd rather see the land in some kind of production and open. People here adore these little farms, so I feel like I'm doing my part. :)Joan Lambert Baileyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03115423496781398997[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6670240581789114113.post-10079218116799454862010-05-01T22:34:33.371-04:002010-05-01T22:34:33.371-04:00I love this idea. There is a local woman who does this with flowers, though.

Good luck on the Blogathon!landguppyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07031657417378986304[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6670240581789114113.post-84487278890289656992010-05-01T21:50:01.968-04:002010-05-01T21:50:01.968-04:00Wow, that really is nifty, although I think I'...Wow, that really is nifty, although I think I'd prefer to be able to really see the produce before I buy.

Found you through the Blogathon, looking forward to reading more about your life in Japan. We're considered Tokyo, but it's not the bustling buzz where you lived. Although, I'm always impressed at the amount of greenery I do see here throughout the city. Not just parks but the vast assortment of pots and containers surrounding homes, high up on balconies, or in front of a gas station. That's absolutely one of my favorite things about living here.Joan Lambert Baileyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03115423496781398997[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6670240581789114113.post-67704808348425179062010-05-01T08:26:08.873-04:002010-05-01T08:26:08.873-04:00I always lived inside the Yamanote-sen, so I never...I always lived inside the Yamanote-sen, so I never saw farm stands in Tokyo.
