My husband loves this pear jam that we buy from a local vendor, so I may try to make the jam with Asian pears for him. Thanks for sharing!Jenhttp://www.mymorningchocolate.com[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6670240581789114113.post-18802041391560976172010-05-03T13:30:46.886+09:002010-05-03T13:30:46.886+09:00Nashi are just the best! If I don't eat all of them first...<br /><br />Anjuli, I can't say I've noticed the cicadas, but I also didn't know this was a nashi orchard until just recently. I'll keep my eyes open - or may ears, as the case may be. Kiwi orchards abound, as well, and we've been munching on those lately.Joan Lambert Baileyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03115423496781398997[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6670240581789114113.post-85934060775378204772010-05-03T13:08:30.826+09:002010-05-03T13:08:30.826+09:00Are they also called Asian pears? I have two traditional pear trees in my garden-the blooms in your pictures look very similar to mine. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to eat any pears off my trees: wasps and worms seem to get to them before I do.<br />Good luck with the blogathon! I'm also a blogathoner-trying to step up my game!Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03621642738507969116[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6670240581789114113.post-2233319373989146212010-05-03T08:29:22.296+09:002010-05-03T08:29:22.296+09:00Oh I do so miss a lovely Nashi!! Also, one thing my children loved was going to a Nashi orchard and picking the nashi- we would make a picnic of it- except I was always wary of the cicadas who inhabited the orchards. My son said those were his favorite science lessons :)Anjulihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16563616683370799899[email protected]
